Two races to go and the season is nearly done! The picturesque Phillip Island is next up for the MotoGP riders as they round off a tiring run of three races in quick succession.

At the top it remains a straight fight between Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa. The former is 23 points ahead with the latter having now won an incredible five of the last six races... It's all made for a climactic end to the campaign. Having said that, two more wins in the last two races could still not be enough for Pedrosa to claim his first MotoGP title. If Lorenzo finishes second - as he has done in each of the five races Pedrosa has recently won - he would hold on to take the crown. The tension is palpable, but who's going to take the initiative this weekend?

A home race for Casey Stoner will bring the very best out of the Australian. After all, he's won there for the past five seasons on the trot. The 2011 World Champion is still recovering from injury though, so will he be able to overcome the issues he's had in his two races since returning to action and mix things up for the two title chasers?

Andrea Dovizioso remains in sight behind Stoner in the standings and the Tech 3 rider, who's heading to Ducati next season, can still finish third in the standings if he manages to overhaul the 18 points Stoner holds over him. The Italian stood on the podium at Phillip Island last year - can he do it again?

Valentino Rossi ruled the circuit from 2001 to 2005, taking five wins in a row, and last year was the first time he had never stood on the podium at Phillip Island in the premier class! These are his last two races with Ducati, so can 'The Doctor' find something special and delight fans with a top-three finish?

Find out this weekend when MotoGP hits the Island for Round 17, share your thoughts and opinions ahead of the race, and don't forget to check in on Monday to see what Alex Hofmann made of the action!
