PUMA by Alexander McQueen

PUMA by
Alexander McQueen

The house that Alexander McQueen built abides by tailoring codes but disobeys social convention. It's grounded in the romantic side of battlefields and sadomasochism, indulged with leather and eagle wings. The collections' explorations of identity, nature, and history are heavily influenced by McQueen's Scottish roots and London apprenticeships. Presto apprese l'arte della sartoria e del design e le tecniche di taglio. It didn't take long for his aesthetic to unearth itself: bespoke tailoring, theatrical material play, edgy political themes. Nel 1992 irruppe nella moda con il suo marchio e nel 2005 avviò la collaborazione Alexander McQueen PUMA. His 'nonconformist yet reverent' nature lives through current McQueen collections: it swaggers, struts, and speaks-marked by boldness and burr.

Commander of all things uncharted and untamed, Alexander McQueen PUMA tackles terra nova with typical edge. The collection ditches pageantry for the doomed field work of British explorer Robert Falcon Scott's 1910 trek to the South Pole. The collection explores the brilliance and emotional ramifications of the expedition. Footwear considers the adventurers' environments, artifacts, moods. Shoes are equipped with frosted fabrics, fluorescents, fossilized textures, emblems, thick soles, puffed materials, tumbled suede. Hues are landscape-inspired: saffron, plum, sycamore, winter white. All styles delve into fresh design latitudes. All epitomize a man and mission that took every advantage and never looked back. Blinded by snow and stubbornness. And striving for a legacy.
